Shirley's Thoughts

Within the pages on this site, you will find more than just names and dates of faceless individuals. While none of their names or accomplishments appear in history books, they each in their own way made the world a better place, simply because how they lived their day to day life.

Many of them had a dream for a better life, not only for themselves, but also for future generations. Without any guarantees of success, they found the courage to make the sacrifices needed to fulfill those dreams. In doing so, they endured many hardships yet they persevered and we today still reap the benefits of their perseverance. They also had the strength to stand up for they believed in. In some cases, some of them even died for those beliefs.

Being human also means that they faced temptations and failures in life. But they had the honor to face the consequences of their actions and accepted responsibility for what they had done. When they failed, they didn't give up. They kept on trying until they accomplished their goals.

Most important though, they left the greatest legacy one can give to future generations...A Christian heritage.

It is my hope that we, both now as well as our descendents, take from our ancestors the lessons learned about courage, strength, honor, perseverance and a steadfast faith in God. May the souls that have gone on before us, rest in peace.
